No. This is a theft recovery device not a vehicle tracker. We make sure the device is working and only attempt to locate the vehicle after a stolen vehicle police report is filed.
If the vehicle is not recovered within 30 days of the filing of a police report, the customer returns to the selling dealer to file a claim. Once the claim is approved, the customer selects a new vehicle and the Theft Benefit can be deducted from the overall cost of the purchase.
The benefit is based on the cost of the vehicle. The maximum benefit is $5,000 but in no case will the benefit exceed 50% of the purchase price of the original vehicle or the purchase price of the replacement vehicle, whichever is less. (See price sheet for details.)
